What a Thanksgiving weekend! I think we crammed in as much as we possibly could.
one. my family is the best, mainly because they're all as awkward as I am.
We spent Thanksgiving in Oklahoma City, so naturally, we stopped at Firelake Casino on the way back.
two. Me, Mama and Casey spent the rest of the night in between Wal-Mart, Old Navy, Home Depot and the mall. We RACKED stuff up.
Wait 'til I show you guys the awesome Christmas tree I got. Originally, it was just Casey that wanted one, but then we found out that it was a Martha Stewart 7.5 foot pre-lit tree with a switch on it that can make the lights either colored or white.
So Mom and I decided we needed one too.
Home Depot opened at 5:00, and we were running ahead of schedule, so we pulled into the parking lot right before 4:00. And two people were already in line. I think we were all a little surprised that Home Depot was gonna pull a line. We ended up fifth from the front in what ended up being a very long line.
See that? And half of them wanted our tree.
WE GOT THE BIG TICKET ITEM.
We were loading them in the car and got the stink eye from some crazy girl who hated us for having three when she had none. Sorry, girl, get up earlier. Her boyfriend was getting dangerously close to my brother-in-law, and for a split-second, I honestly thought we were gonna get mugged in Pinnacle Hills over a Christmas tree.
Summary: We spent from 10:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. on the move in the back alleys of American commerce and it was amazing.
three. On Friday, we went to the Razorbacks game and froze our nonnies off. It was supposed to be in the fifties and ended up dropping into the twenties.
She'll watch the game later, dear. Her eyes are frozen.
The Hogs tried as hard as they could, but at the end of the day, Les Miles really is the devil, so they managed to pull it out. And the Hogs weeped, but then rejoiced because that was John L. Smith's last game.
four. I know my Sami-friend will hate this, but holy moly, was I jumping up and down and acting a fool in Buffalo Wild Wings.
These guys make my soul hurt, but I love them so much.
five. The Wizard of Oz was on yesterday. I've always thought that the guards chanted "Oreo, oooohhhh." They don't.
Naturally, I'll still sing it my way.
six. I watched Legally Blonde yesterday and cried my eyes out. I think I have a new appreciation for Elle Woods now that I've a non-bar-passer. Elle had to work her tookis off too!
seven. My Tampa Bay Rays signed Evan Longoria for another ten years. YAHTZEE. I remember living in St. Pete back in 2007 and hearing about this amazing kid coming up in Durham who was gonna be some huge stud one day.
Whaddaya know. We were right!
eight. Louie got an early Christmas present ... a puppy bed!
He loves it!
But his friend Howie steals it a lot.
Good thing he's a sweet-hearted sharing boy.
Happy Monday, little worker bees!
